Our Story

Terra Campers was born from a shared dream — a love for life on the road, but with a sense of belonging and a place to call home.

For Marlon, van life began in a cramped, dim garage, building his first van by hand. With years of experience in luxury home construction and tiny home manufacturing, he wanted the freedom to spend more time doing what he loves — retreating into nature and chasing the elements through hiking, paragliding, windsurfing, and surfing.

For Alice, the dream started as a teenager in rainy England, sketching ideas of a life spent exploring the outdoors and chasing sunshine.

We grew up oceans apart — Marlon in Brazil, Alice in the United Kingdom — yet we were both guided by the same instinct: to explore the world and live freely, untethered from convention. That shared pull eventually led us to Australia’s Gold Coast, where the mountains meet the coastline — the perfect grounding for what would become Terra.

We met while camping in Byron Bay, realising almost instantly that we shared more than a love for travel. We both believed that home isn’t about where you’re from — it’s about the space you create and the feeling you build within it. Together, we envisioned something bigger than one trip or one van — a way of living not tied to one address, but inspired by many.

That vision became Terra — meaning earth — a reflection of our belief that true freedom comes from staying grounded and connected to the world around you.

Today, Terra Campers is a small, design-led workshop on the Gold Coast, crafting campervans that balance function, form, and fulfilment. Each van is built by hand with thoughtful design, premium materials, and a dedication to craftsmanship.

What began as two people and one van has grown into a brand built on connection — to nature, to craft, and to the road ahead.
